look at this sweetheart.  olivia was one week old and precious.  beautiful in big bows and zebra caps.  even better in dads turn out gear as a goldsboro firefighter.  a daddy's girl already.  the massey family is amazing.  and even seemed well rested… for now.  welcome to the world olivia.  i'm excited to watch you grow!

seniors fall 2013

some people look for a beautiful place, others make a place beautiful.

some days i look around and realize - i have a ridiculous life!  i work for young life ministry here in goldsboro.  loving on high school kids.  reminding them who they really are and how jesus feels about them.  i laugh, i play and just walk alongside lots of girls who trust me enough to let me into their lives. then i get to take pictures.  to capture beautiful things.  to create memories for folks.  well this fall these two jobs have come together into something pretty amazing.  look at these girls! for the most part they are all young women i have had the pleasure to get to know, to watch play field hockey or tennis or volleyball, to eat lunch with, cry with, laugh with, shop at target with.  they babysit my children and i am so thankful to call them friends.  i can't wait to walk through the next season of life with them! love you!

to love another person is to see all of their magic, and to remind them of it when they have forgotten.

lots of magic on this day.  the barnes wedding was a wonderful adventure.  beautiful day.  glorious music. beautiful bride. train rides in herman park. fathers and sons.  good lord the dancing.  reminders everywhere that life is good.  laughter is life giving and that loving others is life's greatest blessing.  congrats you two! can't wait to show you the rest!

wow! the fall kicks off with a BANG! feel like i've been running around like a crazy woman - because i have. look at some of the amazing things i've been doing. and there's so much MORE to come.

some days when I look back at the people i get to photograph, i am blown away by what a privilege it is to share life with these amazing, beautiful folks.   this summer has been no exception.  i have laughed and laughed with old Young Life kids who are now engaged - sweated it out in the goldsboro sunshine with sweet, growing families - run from thunderstorms in emerald isle - blown dandelions with little kids  - celebrated big milestones - and felt bittersweet that students i have known for years are seniors and graduating.   this summer has been RICH & incredible.   take a look at this small glimpse of summer goodness and get ready for lots of posts there's so much to catch up on!
